Okay I'm going to try this again. I own a 1969 Chevy C-20 Longhorn. Recently while trying to start it I burned a wire that runs from the firewall to the starter I believe. I burned about 3 feet of wire. It is 16 gauge with a white cloth like (possibly asbestos) insulation it appears to be steel or aluminum (I'm betting steel) very stiff. It seems to be for high voltage or at least that was what I was led to believe. I have tried all the auto parts stores to include classic nobody could tell me where to get more or a suitable substitute. After that I tried electrical and HVAC suppliers. At the HVAC suppliers they had a similar wire but it was only available in very short lengths. I have contacted large electrical wire producers once again no luck. Can somebody tell me where I can find a wire like the one described above or suitable substitute. I would like to purchase a length of 20 feet or more (just in case). Thanks for your time and help
