I just bought a 1973 Chevy 1/2 ton 2wd Cheyenne Super 10, and am trying to figure out what engine is in it, so I can buy some parts for it.
The truck's VIN is: CCY143F40776
There are 2 numbers on the machined pad below the head and behind the alternator, on the passenger side of the block, they are (best I can tell anyway, kinda hard to read them): V0326SXA and 1ER205096
Best I can find out online is that the engine's ID suffix being "SXA" seems to indicate that the block is from a 1984 Monte Carlo SS with a 305ci 4 bbl (it is definitely a Holley 4bbl and it has an aluminum intake manifold so those 2 things, at least, have been changed at some point) but I can't tell from looking at it, what size the motor is, or what year it was manufactured.
Can someone, who has better resources than I do, please look up these numbers and tell me what year and size engine is in this truck?
Thanks!!
Ray
