Monzaz,
I recently purchased a 1972 stepside with a 350/350 60 mph at 3500 RPM. I have yet to pulle the cover off the diff. What gears do you think I need to put in to get decent milage? 3:73's? I think that it may have 4:11's now. I will do a lot of city driving but want to take on the highway as well. It will also be my daily driver.
Any information, would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Guys I'm new here. I'm working on a 71 Cheyenne for my dad. I jacked it up and turned the wheel 1 turn while counting turns of the pinion and took it x2, which should give me the rearend ratio. That said it looks like about 3.08 to 1. I'm pretty sure this is the original rearend. What was the standard ratio on a light duty 1/2 ton. How about optional ratios? Thanks for your help. Steve
